Is a protective bumper useful and necessary?

From the top of my head, I already know several points in its favor such as:

It’s much easier to install the winchYou  have more spaces for additional headlights or other accessories for greater protection against impact (obvious)and well many say that it adds more aesthetics to the vehicle and those things. premium front bumper

   … and the only one against which I have heard really good is:

-it brings a lot of unnecessary weight

Now; you tell me if one adopts the winch correctly in its original shock is it the same? Is the beam recommended? What other pros and cons do you see?

They say that it protects the car in rough offloading from daring obstacles as in rivers, ditches, among others. Now, this is pure myth, or if it is worth spending those dollars in of those? vengeance front bumper

In my case, I do not have a winch installed, but it is always good to have the option as the need appears. Having extra headlights is always good for traveling at night on roads alone and dark. They are also very useful to use a hi-lift and recovery equipment. The recovery should be avoided and is only for bumpers that are designed and installed for that purpose. But, it is a real danger to use them for that purpose … But, for me, protection is the main consideration. The protection is not for traffic accidents, mainly for animals in the roads. As for traffic accidents, I was lucky to have an ARB bumper in an accident last year, which allowed three cars (I was the one in the middle) to be the only one to roll out.
