Metal Bumper Repair: The Traditional approach

https://www.fabfours.com, bumpers

Car bumpers have evolved significantly since their first invention in 1901. Due to safety regulations and standards, manufacturers had to find ways to create a bumper that is rigid enough to minimize damage to the vehicle, and not be too hard on impact with pedestrians. Premium Front Bumper

This shift from metal such as steel to elastomeric material such as polyurethane has changed the bumped repair trade completely. In this modern era, chemicals such as Q-bond adhesive are used to restore and repair bumpers.

But when it comes to metal bumper repair, the traditional way is still most effective. This method can be used to repair dents or restore the condition of the bumper no matter the design. Below is a demonstration of how you can restore a metal bumper in a good old fashioned way. Black Steel Front Bumper

It is very rare to find a vehicle with a full metal bumper these days. Only a portion of metal makes a part of the entire bumper design. So you can apply this method on bumpers such as the one found on a 97 Ford explorer or anything similar.

== What you need ==

* Sand paper (Coarse and fine sheets)

* Size 12 ring spanner

* Can of spray paint (color depends on you)

There is nothing complicated here, your primary objective is to get rid of all the rust and stains on the metal piece and repaint your bumper.

Use the ring spanner to detach the bumper from the front of the vehicle. If you have a socket set, you may work a little faster. Vengeance Front Bumper

Second step, use the coarse sand paper to remove all the coarse rust coating the metal plate. Make sure to clean as much of the bumper as you can. Lastly, soothe the surface with a fine sand paper to remove even the smallest blemishes.

From there on you should be all set and ready to paint your newly restored bumper. These sections of the car play such an important role in protecting our hoods, grills, and cooling systems. The least we can do is keep them in tip top shape. Elite Accesories
